Mr. Ed Harrelson was 93 years old when this iconic picture was taken by SCDNR writer and photographer Bob Campbell for the January-February 1973 issue of SCW. “The Remarkable Mr. Ed,” was the name of the story, and the life and times of the state’s then-oldest living wildlife conservation officer as chronicled by Campbell were just that — remarkable.

January 2019 will mark the 65th anniversary of South Carolina Wildlife magazine, and during the year ahead,  we’ll be sharing some of the treasured stories and photos found in SCW’s earliest issues.
